TAO receives awards from our partner, YMCA (Kansas City)

Executive Director, Joseph Vincelli and lead chef teaching artist were recipients of the YMCA’s prestigious “Spirit of Service” award, last week.  These awards are given to outstanding volunteers that add towards the YMCA’s mission and goals.

TAO was awarded this honor as we teach YMCA’s after-school program the importance of good nutrition and how to attain it by eating meals at home that are inexpensive, easy to prepare, highly nutritious, and delicious!

Accepting the awards for The Artist Outreach was lead chef, Alfredo Lopez.  A nice way to begin our Thanksgiving holiday!

A big thank you to The William G. McGowan Charitable Fund for making this effort possible, serving over 6,500 students through “Play With Your Food!” Culinary Nutrition.
